Highway4 Shows Support for Fair Trade

“The world as we have created it is a process of our thinking. It cannot be changed without changing our thinking" (Albert Einstein)
For a city famed for its streetside cafes, tea and coffee have become part of the basic necessities of Hanoians, such a daily norm that consumers now rarely bother to question where it originates from, who grew it, and how it was made.

Wikipedia defines Traceability as “the completeness of the information about every step in a process chain”. Businesses should identify the source of all inputs such as raw materials, additives, other ingredients and packaging on the basis of one step forward and one step back at any point in the supply chain. Traceability enables us to target the product(s) involved in a food safety problem, thereby minimizing disruption to trade and reducing potential public health risks. We ensure that the products we serve are processed with the highest regard to safety and are produced according to high standards in regards to labour and the environment.  This course of action led us to the Fair Trade model – advocating better trading conditions and promoting sustainability. As such Highway4 is proud to announce a new partnership with Betterday and Oriberry.

Betterday and Oriberry provide high quality products grown with integrity, fairness and transparency in the entire production chain from the farmer through to the customer. Fair trade not only promotes traceability, it advocates a social responsibility to the community and society. So next time you order tea or coffee at Highway4, know that you are not only enjoying a quality beverage but you are also contributing to social responsibility for the community.

Vietnam’s First Vegetarian Fish

Do you know where your food comes from? Every time we eat catfish, do you check if it’s a low value or high value fish produce? Immediately after capture, several chemical and biological changes take place in dead fish which can ultimately lead to rejection for human consumption because of spoilage.
Do you care where your food comes from?

              Highway4 Catfish Spring Rolls

Our Mekong Catfish originates from the two farms practicing sustainable aquaculture in the Mekong Delta region of Can Tho. The fish are fed only with 100% vegetal (vegetable) feed, resulting in a premium quality fish fillet. This makes the award winning Highway4’s Catfish Spring Rolls tastier, juicier and healthier! With Highway4, you are guaranteed to have the best natural and healthy produce the market can offer without implicating any drastic effects to nature.

Aquaculture is used for producing seafood for human consumption, as well as producing nutritional compounds. The term “aquaculture” refers to the breeding, rearing, and harvesting of animals and plants. With sustainable aquaculture, we meet the increasing market demand for aquatic products without depleting stocks of wild fish and are ensured that we have quality and carefully nourished fish.
